How to Rank Higher in Search Results

When that special someone comes searching for you, where do you want your profile to show up in the results? At the top, of course!

The first results are most likely to get viewed, so that's where we're going to try to get you. Here are a few tips on how to make sure your profile comes up as high as possible:

  Profiles with photographs come up higher in search results. Not only that, but searchers are much more likely to click through to a profile with a photo, and send messages to people with photos in the profiles. In fact, uploading a photograph is the single most important factor we know of for getting more people to view your profile.
   
• Search Introduction
  Profiles with a "search introduction" (the little blurb that shows up on the search page) come up higher in search results. Write something designed to entice the kind of person you want to meet to click through and view your full profile.
   
• Log in Often
  We want our members to find the people who are most active on the site (and thus, the mostly likely to respond to messages, etc.), so we bump those who've logged in recently up in the results.
   
• Interest List and Compatibility Profile
  If you haven't listed your interests and haven't created a Compatibility Profile, you'll never come up in Interest Match and Compatibility Match searches. And interests can also be a factor in Standard Search. So take a few minutes and complete those parts of your profile.
   
• Upgrade to an Enhanced Profile
  Higher placement in search results is one of the benefits.
   

One final tip: the best way to get someone to view your profile is to send them a message. Then you won't have to compete for the top spots with everyone else who's read this page and followed our advice!
