Be strong
Posted on 10/23/2009
I joined the church when I was 18, and till now I am the only member of the church in my family. Nobody had held the priesthood in my home, before I joined, and nobody has after me. But, I acted on the little that I learnt each day at Church, and from member friends. I have already served a full time mission. Since I returned I have served as Stake executive secretary, young men president, and presently a 2nd counselor in the bishopric. And I am only 24. So, if you are determined you can do it. Set an example, not to miss church and your church assignments, not even once. Be strong for them. Bear your testimony to them. Teach them. Don't let them feel they can't be better priesthood holders because they don't see one. Tell them it's even a challenge the Lord has extended unto them. Try and influence their choices of friends a little bit. Read them to them from the Book of Mormon about the Armies of Helaman, the Sons of Mosiah. They were one, and they stood firm. Good luck.
